Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.
The trio have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the last year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.
The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The show will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"Being nominated for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in sensational style as - at just 17 years old - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
