It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to create her newest gem.

Then best known as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her debut and seven world titles have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing at all," said Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts take over and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this World Cup want to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wished she had played with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
