That Grisly Cartoon Movie Ending That Stays With Viewers

Out of every adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve ever viewed, nothing has lingered in my mind quite like the fear-filled ending of a viscerally violent as well as deeply subversive 2022 movie The Unicorn Wars.

In 2015’s, this Spain-based filmmaker developed a dark, melancholy and frequently brutal universe that included a few small , desolate twinges of optimism.

Although Unicorn Wars appears as it stemmed from a drive to advance animation further, the filmmaker explained that it was more a try to express a global, multicultural message regarding “the mutual source of each battle.”

That message is conveyed through a squad of colorful pastel bears , clearly modeled after a well-known line of cuddly characters.

Growing up in a society focused on warmongering as well as the war machine, many of the bears are obsessed with exterminating unicorns, because of a sacred text that tells the bears they were once kings of the woodland, until the horned beings expelled them.

Others did not entirely fallen for the brainwashing, , would rather experiment with narcotics and engage sexually outdoors.

Unlike their cuddly equivalents, these colorful critters show sexual organs and obvious libidos.

For a certain especially vicious, skeptical animal, the character Bluey, the battle with the unicorns turns into a path to power — and particularly to supremacy over his more tender, more compassionate sibling the character Tubby.

The character acts as a tormentor , an apparent psychopath , and while terror dominates his group and kills his teammates sequentially, he takes progressively control for himself, in increasingly violent, damaging approaches.

At the same time, these mythical beings are suffering their own nightmare, through a growing, deadly beast in their woods.

“Initially, it feels like a humorous movie,” the director stated. “But then it evolves into a more intense and sorrowful movie. And ultimately, it transforms into a terrifying movie.”

Unicorn Wars begins resembling one of the most quirky features by a renowned filmmaker, which find a mischievous joy in allowing animated figures swear, shoot each other, or sex each other up.

Subsequently it becomes closer to a more grim movie from the same director, featuring progressively graphic violence , a palpable link to the real suffering of war.

In the finale, it becomes a full-on extreme drama massacre.

The terror which makes this a perfect Halloween movie begins much sooner than that description suggests.

Unicorn Wars is one for the most dedicated fans of gore, for lovers of graphic films who wish to view a movie they haven’t ever watched previously, and are able to withstand a plot which delivers absolutely no punches.

See it in a dark room with no disturbances, and the finale will crawl into your mind and stay with you.
