Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match winning run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, readers and a range of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's new album, the new release, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football side," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
A family member told me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.
Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.
However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's home record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
