Outrage as Renowned South African DJ Gunned Down in the City of Johannesburg.
A prominent South African radio and club DJ has been fatally gunned down in the metropolis of Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country grappling with persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the central business district on a Tuesday afternoon.
Officials stated the forty-year-old entertainer was accosted by a trio of assailants, with one opened fire on him before escaping on foot.
The reason of the attack has not been established and no arrests have taken place, as per the official statement.
The Fatal Incident
Law enforcement said that Stock was targeted as he was exiting a building close to the city center landmark.
He had devoted time at the building managing the installation of safety equipment, which had been reportedly taken over by unknown people, it was reported.
"It is alleged the deceased was confronted by three unidentified men after parking his vehicle, and they began shooting at him before fleeing the scene on foot," an official report stated.
Surveillance tape reportedly captured a man with dreadlocks and dressed in what appeared to be a protective services outfit opening fire on Stock before running away.
The DJ tried to run away after he was shot but succumbed to his injuries on the opposite side of the road.
It was further revealed that Stock had an weapon on his person and nothing was taken during the incident.
