New Information Surface Concerning the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
New information has come to light about the tragic demises of esteemed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.
The Initial Report
A source indicates quoting a family associate, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the home. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.
When she went into the house, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Following this, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, including the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently in custody and denied bail.
Correcting the Record
The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.
Additionally disputed published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation includes reports of reportedly "unstable" behavior by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Details
According to law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the scene. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
