Ex- Physician Accused of Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault â comprising some against children younger than 13 â spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official said, âLegal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.â
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a âcomplex investigationâ into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
