In a bizarre crossover event that breaks traditional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Questline Uncovered

According to the formal release, "An unusual confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of forbidden rituals and monstrous changes reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret group.

The questline concentrates on "strange tests and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Changes

The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Additional Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside several objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Unique arms
• Survey Corps vehicle

Newest Free Story Addition

This update also adds the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

Past Japanese Animation Partnerships

This represents not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime series. The series earlier included a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla unofficially featured a quest that unmistakably nodded to the popular series One-Punch Man.
